The "Cybernetics Approach to Perception and Action" (CAPA) group was created to apply information theory, signal theory and advanced control system methods to understanding self-motion perception and action. One of the major goals of this group is a to get a deeper understanding of the processing self-motion information by considering the brain as a complex control system, which has sub-components that can be individually evaluated, but which may also be part of a larger system.
